FAQs
As applied to PKRxiv, this refers to the general terms and conditions governing the reuse of datasets on the platform. Each time you contribute datasets, you will be required to indicate which one of the following three data sharing models to apply.
- Unrestricted use: Any user could potentially be granted access to datasets shared under this model if they accept PKRxiv terms and conditions. Requests are approved by the PKRxiv team.
- Non-commercial use: User with commercial interests will not be granted access to datasets shared under this model. Non-commercial users may be granted access if they accept PKRxiv terms and conditions. Requests are approved by the PKRxiv team.
- Contributor-controlled: Any user could potentially be granted access to datasets shared under this model if they accept PKRxiv terms and conditions. Final decisions regarding data release from PKRxiv and under what specific data sharing agreement are made by the data contributor. Hence a data sharing agreement will be required as part of data sharing process to use this model.
Yes, there is a template for data curation on PKRxiv.
You can use this Excel spreadsheet to generate your csv file. The spreadsheet contains validation rules against some of the columns. Columns in yellow are non-mandatory. Once you have saved your data as a csv file, it might look something like this example. The first row in the spreadsheet and example csv contains the fields you need to supply data for. For clarity, the following fields are non-mandatory: gestation_stage, gestation_age_in_weeks, postpartum_age_in_days and duration_on_drug_days. Your final csv file must include the first row of field titles, unchanged from the template. Your data must be for a single study only. If you have data for multiple studies, each study must be contributed separately.
Yes, we have experienced data curators who can support with data extraction and formatting. Hence, the contributed data could be in any format.
Yes, only fully anonymised data are accepted on PKRxiv. We will be happy to provide guidance regarding this, if necessary.
Drug name, gender, gestation age, study design, time after dose, dosage, administration route, formulation type, drug concentration, sample type, body weight, age, race, and full citation of the published study.
Yes, during submission you will have an opportunity to impose an embargo period of up to 24 months before the dataset become accessible and requestable on PKRxiv. This date can be updated as needed.
No. As a student, it is unlikely that you have the authority to uphold the associated terms and conditions. Please ask your supervisor to create a PKRxiv account and request the datasets required for your project.

PKRxiv uses DOI to verify and abstract study metadata. To share dataset from an unpublished study, you will need to: (1) deposit your unpublished manuscript in a preprint server; (2) once it’s available online, use the assigned DOI to share the underlying datasets on PKRxiv.
If you have any questions about PKRxiv, including clarification on how you can contribute, need help with using the platform, or other matters, please email the team at pkrxiv@liverpool.ac.uk.
